But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak (Hebrews 6:9)
Here Paul is talking to believers and just before this verse he saying that those who choose not to walk circumspectly in their confession of faith will only produce thorns and thistles, because of their lack of repentance, as they put the Son of God to shame once again. Those who are submissive and drink in His water will produce useful crop and experience better things that accompany salvation. What does this word ‘ACCOMPANY’ mean? ‘ECHO‘ to be able, hold or be possessed with. ‘SALVATION’ means that we will experience ‘SOTERIA’. This word means: rescue or safety (physically or morally):—deliver, health, salvation, save, saving. Which comes from the root word ‘SOTARE‘ which means: a deliverer, i.e. God or Christ:—saviour. IF you go further into the root of these words they come from the word ‘SOZO‘ which means: deliver or protect (literally or figuratively):—heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole. None of these are for our bad but for our good. How do these come fruition in our lives? By us drinking in the water falling on our land. Truly God has been teaching me to make sure ALL DOORS to the enemy are closed so he cannot come into my life to torment me. Doors such as things that spring up in our inner man such as pride, arrogance, anger, unforgiveness, resentment, bitterness, the need to be right, envy, greed etc.. these doors represent bad things in our lives that produce thorns and thistles and give him free access to make our lives hell. To confuse you. To make you sick. I have dealt with the same mountain in my life for too many years, more than most. NO longer will I live under this. FAITH has risen up in my heart and I will not put up with his crap and call it for my good. Open your eyes people and see who the REAL enemy is. He is a thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. GOD gives us life and life abundantly. Which do you choose? How are you getting there? What is your trust in? And how is it affecting your life? Don’t be condemned if its not where it ought to be. Repent, confess and turn in the opposite direction. Ask for God’s grace. AND receive it. Walk in FREEDOM. Where the SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS their is FREEDOM OR LIBERTY. Confess God’s Word over yourself, over your circumstances, over your finances, over your mind, over your heart, over your health, over your family, over your marriage, over everything in your life. Watch what God does.
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised (Heb 6:12).
